CHIMEI Corporation has partnered with Wetlands Taiwan to advance ecological conservation in the Erren River watershed, supporting long-term ecological monitoring that combines scientific research with on-the-ground action while reinforcing its commitment to biodiversity and responsible environmental management.
CHIMEI manages water use and wastewater discharge under strict internal standards, supported by continuous monitoring and public disclosure of effluent quality data through its website and on-site electronic displays. As treated effluent from its facilities flows into the Erren River, the company extends its environmental management to incorporate watershed-level perspective.
As part of the initiative, CHIMEI funded the renovation of the Erren River Environmental Education Center, improving safety and facilities for guided tours, educational programs, and volunteer activities. In addition, CHIMEI supports long-term biodiversity monitoring conducted by Wetlands Taiwan, focusing on bird species and aquatic organisms. The surveys document long-term trends in species distribution and environmental conditions, establishing a scientific baseline for the watershed and informing environmental management and decision-making.
Through this partnership, CHIMEI is taking practical, science-based action to safeguard the Er-Ren River ecosystem, combining responsible operations, ecological monitoring, and community engagement to support long-term environmental resilience.
