CHIMEI Corporation, a global leading performance materials company, announced its GoGreen Plus cooperation with DHL Express, a world’s leading international express service provider. Since October 16, 2023, CHIMEI has opted for the 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for its international express shipping service, so as to achieve the goal of reducing carbon emissions by 100%.

Through this collaboration, CHIMEI becomes the first Taiwanese company to adopt 100% SAF for its international express shipping process, cutting an estimated 90 tons of annual carbon emissions. This will accelerate the sustainability commitment to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

DHL Express has been a long-term logistics partner of CHIMEI. It launched the GoGreen Plus services at its global branches this year to provide customized sustainable and flexible logistics solutions.

This time, CHIMEI becomes the first company to adopt the 100% GoGreen Plus sustainable logistics solution offered by DHL to transport important documents and packages. The service will cover all international delivery routes. CHIMEI is the first Taiwanese petrochemical company to answer the call of the “Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi),” and aims to achieve “net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.” It plans to achieve the goal by enhancing emissions reduction efforts, implementing circular economies, establishing and utilizing clean and renewable energies, developing recycling materials, adopting bio-based raw materials, and investing in the research and development of carbon capture and utilization (CCU). CHIMEI will continue to exert its influence and proactively expand its cooperation with upstream and downstream supply chain partners on environmental issues. Additionally, the company will look for more potential solutions on recycling and carbon reduction, and work together with the world to achieve net zero carbon emissions.
