CHIMEI Corporation joined hands with National Taiwan University’s (NTU) Department of Accounting to launch a digital transformation talent cultivation project. The project is incorporated into featured courses offered by NTU and draw on CHIMEI’s professional experience with the digital transformation process through tech-based exchanges, ultimately producing talent desired by modern corporations.
For CHIMEI’s digital transformation initiatives, artificial intelligence (AI) plays a center role both conceptually and technologically. The company can access accurate, real-time data insights thanks to the implementation of AI in various stages of its production process, including manufacturing, maintenance, management, marketing, distribution, and business operations. Through digital transformation, CHIMEI employees can now focus their attention on tasks with greater value. In fact, the company first adopted robotic process automation (RPA) as early as 2017 to handle highly repetitive processes in its assembly lines, liberating workers from mundane tasks and freeing capacity for high-value activities, which in turn improved the company’s overall manufacturing efficiency.
In this industry-academia collaboration project, CHIMEI and NTU guided students to create a simulated work environment based on real-world conditions by interviewing professionals in the field, analyzing the applicable workflows, and writing the script for an automation program. By presenting their results, not only can students in NTU’s Accounting Department can not only hone their professional skills and stay on top of the latest technology trends, but they also have a chance to put what they learn into practice.
According to Denis Chen, Vice President of CHIMEI Corporation, the industry trend of digital transformation is an irreversible one. In the AI era, businesses are placing heavier emphasis on innovative applications. Chen hopes that by working alongside NTU Accounting, CHIMEI can help cultivate next-generation professionals possessing both theoretical knowledge and practical experience who are able to step right into the industry after graduation.
CHIMEI remains committed to sustainable development and is actively seeking opportunities to actualize its ESG vision. In this collaboration with NTU, CHIMEI continues to give back to society by helping a top-tier education institution train digital transformation talent. The company would also like to thank UiPath’s Taiwan team for making this project possible.
