To enhance management efficiency, Chi Mei merges with subsidiary Chimei Asahi Corporation

2008

Chi Mei Corp. signs formal agreement with Grand Pacific Petrochemical under which Zhenjiang Chimei is merged with Zhenjiang Guoheng Plastics. Following the merger, Zhenjiang Chimei's annual ABS capacity rises to 700,000 tons, making it the leading ABS manufacturer in China

Group establishes Chimei brand and updates corporate identity system

  • Chi Mei establishes the Chimei Asahi Corporation through a joint venture with Japan's Asahi Kasei. The new company produces polycarbonate (PC) after testing and confirming a new, environmentally-friendly "non-phosgene, no solvent" method.
  • Chi Mei Corp. passes ISO 14001 environmental protection certification

Establishes the Chi-Lin Resin Company as a joint venture with Mitsubishi Petrochemical and Mitsubishi Corporation, engages in the manufacture of PE processed products
